Queer Events For St. Patrick's Day

Why have green puke when you can have rainbow?

Are you ready for St. Patrick’s Day in New York City? The Guinness is flowing. The bagpipes are blowing. The rivers of green vomit are growing. There’s nothing like spring in New York!

In the holiday spirit that can only be compared to Santa Con, we recommend staying the hell out of Manhattan and away from NYU bars. But if you want to get sloppy, we support whatever gets your shamrocks off. Scroll down to see events that will keep you away from the Murray Hill bros demanding to be kissed because of their 23andMe results.

Here’s hoping all our short kings get lucky.

Events for Sunday, March 17

The Usual Suspects

The Bush : St. Patty’s Day Bingo with Dyke Beer, 4-8 PM

Cubbyhole : no special event listed

Ginger’s : Ginger’s 24th Anniversary, starting 11 am, live music from the Shanties and performances by The Brooklyn Irish Dance Company

Henrietta Hudson’s : Get Lucky Dance Party

Mary’s : Brooklyn Irish Dance Company, 3-4 PM with Irish music all afternoon

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the city’s only Lesbian Irish Bar, duh. No other day of the year deserves the (slightly tedious) trek to Greenpoint more.

Special Events

The Holler : Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century Drink-A-Long, 8 PM

If you’re looking to abstain from St. Paddy’s debauchery, try the laidback but still kitschy Disney Channel Original movie night at the Bed-Stuy queer-adjacent dive bar.

3 Dollar Bill : Queer Country Swing Sunday, 3 PM, $10 »

NYC Queer Photo Club : Greenpoint to Long Island City Photowalk, 1 PM, meet at McCarren Park at the corner of Driggs and Lorimer

Hot Lesbian Gossip

Look, we’re total losers who don’t know anything about anyone. But we long to feel included in the queer scene. If you want to share a juicy tidbit with the class, submit an anonymous tip here.
