Celesbian Gossip, Explained

To promote her new album In Search of the Antidote, the singer Fletcher appeared on her ex Shannon Beveridge’s video podcast. This is Big Lesbian News as the two had a very public falling out after their breakup when Fletcher released the song “Becky’s So Hot” in 2022. Becky Missal was Shannon’s new girlfriend at the time, and the song included the lyrics “Ooh, she the one I should hate / But I wanna know how she taste / I kinda wanna hit her when I see her / Becky's so hot in your vintage t-shirt.” Shannon and Becky said it was released without Becky’s approval and let people know they strongly disapproved.

Fletcher’s previous album Girl of My Dreams was (mostly) about the end of Fletcher and Shannon’s relationship, but Shannon only publicly denounced the horny song about her new partner, understandably. Shannon also recently revealed on her podcast that Fletcher was the one who dumped her, even though Fletcher keeps writing songs about her, with at least one song on the new album also referencing Shannon. Pauses dramatically to catch my breath after that longass explanation.

So, all that being said, the new podcast is wild in that the two are on speaking terms, let alone on intimate interview terms. Becky and Shannon have since broken up but, in the interview, Shannon still hints at her disapproval of “Becky’s So Hot.” Shannon and Fletcher reminisce on the beginnings of their toxic four-year relationship, which was not even public until after their breakup. We have to stay tuned for Part 2 (probably to be released next week) to get more details on their falling out and making up.
